Extension Privacy Practices
This section describes the data processed by our Chrome extension Geoptim, AI Search (address bar). It supplements this privacy policy and covers Chrome Web Store requirements.
What the extension does
The extension allows you to launch a search in an AI assistant (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Google Gemini) or in Google directly from the Chrome address bar, using the keyword "ai".
Data Processed
Data sharing is optional and solely serves to improve the product. It is enabled by default but can be disabled at any time, from the home screen displayed at installation or later from the extension's options page. When enabled, the following information is transmitted anonymously:
Search query
The search query entered by the user.
Targeted provider
Examples: ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Google Gemini.
Browser Language
The language of the user interface used in Chrome.
Anonymous identifier
A randomly generated UUID created locally to deduplicate and count distinct users.
Extension Version
The installed version, used to track usage and improve compatibility.
What we don't collect
No personally identifiable information (name, email, etc.).
No location data or IP addresses stored or logged.
No browsing history or tracking of visited pages.
No health, financial or authentication data.
Purpose and basis
Anonymous and aggregated data are used exclusively to understand usage patterns and improve the tool's relevance. They are neither sold nor transferred to third parties, and are not used for purposes unrelated to the extension's function, nor for creditworthiness assessment.
Local storage
Preferences (default provider, language, consent choices, anonymous identifier) are stored locally in your browser (chrome.storage) and are not associated with your identity.
Retention
Anonymous data is retained for the duration necessary for statistical analysis, then aggregated or deleted.
Your Choices
You can disable data sharing at any time via the extension options page. Once disabled, no data is transmitted anymore.
